Mixed Media Drawing and Painting: Floral Still Life

Join Art Supply Depo owner and floral artist Jules Webster for a fun workshop exploring a wide range of drawing & painting materials on mixed media paper.
Participants will try out different painting materials as a base layer including acrylic ink, watercolor, and gouache paint. On top, we'll layer acrylic Posca markers, Colored Pencils and NeoColor II crayons. The objective of this workshop is to expose participants to a variety of materials and processes without having to purchase them all in advance.
Students will draw from various vases of living flowers to create two small mixed media artworks in this workshop. The first will be a small sample artwork to build confidence with the tools and process. Then we'll repeat the excercise on larger paper to create a more "finished" artwork.
To participate in this course, students should have basic drawing skills and some color theory knowledge.
Attendees will leave with a two small artworks on paper and an understanding of how to layer mixed media drawing and painting tools. You will learn how materials differ and how to select the paint or drawing tool for the look you desire. All materials are provided.
Please bring a peanut free snack and a non-alcoholic beverage if desired.
