BOOKMAKING: Creating a Flag Book

A flag book is a type of kinetic artist book. It is based on a simple accordion fold, in which papers are glued to the sides of the accordion. These papers stick out like flags, hence the name.

Not only is this book an interesting and innovative means of creative expression, it is a great structure for designers or for material display. Flags can be made from any thin material.

Katie Delay is an artist, author, educator who lives, works and plays in NW Ohio.  She is passionate about drawing in all media. Katie is an accomplished book maker and exhibits nationally. Her work can be found in the collections of the University of Puget Sound, the University of Toronto, Colorado College, UCLA, Yale University and the Omagh Museum in N. Ireland, as well as corporate and private collections. Katie has also been the recipient of the Regional Award for Outstanding Art Educator by the Ohio Art Education Association. 

Cancellation Policy: We will refund 50% for any cancellation made at least eight days before the class. After 8 days, we are unable to provide refunds for any reason, including illness. If you cannot attend after registration, you are welcome to gift your tuition to a friend at no charge. We do not transfer tuition from one class to another.
