Intro to Acrylics for Absolute Beginners
Join Depo Owner Jules Webster for a fun and informative intro to acrylic painting. This class is structured for absolute beginners to acrylic painting who do not know how to get started. All painting materials will be included. We will complete two small 5x7" paintings of very simple subjects on canvas board to understand how to use brushes, acrylic paint, and mediums. Students will leave with two small sample paintings and the confidence to get started painting at home.
In this class, we will learn:
- What materials you will need to get started
- How to prep a canvas before painting
- How to trace an outline onto the canvas
- How to layer paint from thin to thick
- How to use different formulas of paints for different effects
- Very simple color theory
- How to select brushes to use with acrylics
- How to clean brushes after painting
Students should bring: a notebook and pencil for taking notes, a non-aloholic beverage, a small snack if desired, a low flat box or newspaper to put down in your car to get your paintings home.

Limit of students: 7
Cancellation Policy: We will refund 50% for any cancellation made at least eight days before the class. After 8 days, we are unable to provide refunds for any reason, including illness. If you cannot attend after registration, you are welcome to gift your tuition to a friend at no charge. We do not transfer tuition from one class to another.
