Drawing Texture

There are invented textures where the artist creates textures from their own mind using small patterns to create an intricate, unique way of making their signature work of art. There is actual texture, which is creating a work of art based upon real textures that you can feel made by the media for which, it is created, and then there is visual texture, which is creating the illusion of a texture, something that tricks your mind into thinking that you can touch it, but you really can't.

In this drawing class you learn how to draw visual textures, including animal and human hair; natural textures, including foliage on trees; textures of sticks and trunks; and textures of fabric, including cotton, leather, and embroidery. Then there are textures on buildings, including brick and vinyl siding. All these textures are used in almost every painting or drawing you look at. So come and join me for a drawing class where you will never forget the techniques you have learned.

Students should bring or buy: 11X14" Sketch book, retractable eraser, kneaded eraser, white mars eraser, HB-6B charcoal pencils, General Charcoal sticks, and sandpaper. 

Cancellation Policy: We will refund 50% for any cancellation made at least eight days before the class. After 8 days, we are unable to provide refunds for any reason, including illness. If you cannot attend after registration, you are welcome to gift your tuition to a friend at no charge. We do not transfer tuition from one class to another.
