Daniel Smith Watercolor Demonstration

This event will take place at the Sylvania Public Library 6749 Monroe St., in the meeting room to the left of the library's main entrance.

Registration opens February 1st, 2026. Spots are limited. To register, go to https://www.toledolibrary.org/locations/sylvania/ and look under their adult programs.

Join us for an engaging and informative conversation with Scott Stevenson, Art Educator and Brand Ambassador for DANIEL SMITH Manufacturing.

Got questions about Quinacridone pigments? Curious about the origin of the color Serpentine, or how Moonglow got its name? Ever wondered how DANIEL SMITH tests pigments for lightfastness, or what granulation really means? This is your chance to ask all of these questions and more in a relaxed and informal setting.

The session will open with a look at the history of DANIEL SMITH Manufacturing and the remarkable process behind creating their products. You’ll get an exclusive, behind-the-scenes view of lab paint-outs and discover the unique minerals that inspire the Prima-Tek line. To finish, you’ll have the chance to sample a selection of colors and bring your creativity to life on paper!

Scott Stevenson has been a Brand Ambassador for Daniel Smith Artists’ Materials since 2019, where he plays a pivotal role in educating artists and retailers across North America about the company’s premium watercolors and painting techniques. With over two decades in the art materials industry, Scott has collaborated with leading manufacturers and now focuses on delivering hands-on, informative experiences that connect artists with the science and artistry behind Daniel Smith’s products.
