PASTEL WORKSHOP: FOCUS ON CLOUDS

Learn how to create more realistic clouds and cloud-scapes. In this course, Mary Jane will lead you through a series of exercises designed for the beginner through advanced artist.

This course will be taught using pastels, but the lessons learned can be applied to any painting medium. Instruction will cover working with pastel materials, composition, color, adding highlights and shadows, as well as general techniques for create more convincing clouds and skies. Group demonstrations will be provided and individual instruction is tailored to each student's knowledge base of pastel and objectives.

Students should bring or buy the following materials to participate in this course:

Pastel Mat paper. Can be purchased in a tablet of 12 sheets at The Depo, or in single sheets.

Instructor:	Mary Jane Erard
Instructor Bio:	Mary Jane Erard is an award-winning artist painting mostly in soft pastel and mixed media with acrylic. Her works are usually rural landscapes of the US and Europe. Mary Jane's artwork is owned by many private collectors and included in several corporate collections.
