Intro to Gouache for the Absolute Beginner

Have you been interested in trying a new medium? Do you love the opaque look of gouache, but don't know where to start? This class is all about this underrated matte medium and how to use it to make beautiful, graphic paintings.

We will explore a few different brands of gouache and talk about how to get your paint to the right consistency, different techniques, what substrates work best, and how to get the best results when using this beautiful medium. 

We will do several small practice paintings to understand the differences between using gouache thickly versus thinly, to get an idea of the water control needed to successfully manipulate gouache, and more!

We will end the class with instructions on how to create a 6x8 painting of a night garden to show what we've learned! 

Cancellation Policy: We will refund 50% for any cancellation made at least eight days before the class. After 8 days, we are unable to provide refunds for any reason, including illness. If you cannot attend after registration, you are welcome to gift your tuition to a friend at no charge. We do not transfer tuition from one class to another.
