In the first session we will explore establishing values (lights and shadows), transparency, layering, blending, washes, and creating textures. We will also use a variety of papers to achieve different effects.

During the second session, we will complete a still-life drawing on a choice of paper.

Materials to bring or buy, all available at The Depo:

• A set of at least 24 art quality pencils (such as Faber Castell Polychromos, Holbein, Prismacolor, Caran d’Ache Luminance or Pablo.

• A 2H pencil

• A kneaded eraser

• Prismacolor pencils, one each: Black Grape (PC996), French Grey 90% (PC1076), Lime Peel (PC 1005).

• Drawing Board (at least 13” x 19”)

Tuition includes a variety of papers, solvent, brushes and blenders.

Cancellation Policy: We will refund 50% for any cancellation made at least eight days before the class. After 8 days, we are unable to provide refunds for any reason, including illness. If you cannot attend after registration, you are welcome to gift your tuition to a friend at no charge. We do not transfer tuition from one class to another. For teachers in attendance .6 CEU’s are available.
