INTRODUCTION TO WOODCUT PRINTMAKING

Instructor: Karen Waggoner Skill level: Beginner Age: Adults 18+ Students will learn the basics of woodcut printmaking, by designing and carving one wood block, mixing ink, and printing multiples using 2-3 different inking and printing methods. No prior experience necessary, just a willingness to learn, experiment, and focus is needed.

instructor: Jules Webster Age: Adults 18+ Skill Level: Intermediate. Prior painting experience required. In this four session workshop, participants will work their way through design to completion of an acrylic painting. The intent of this workshop is to go beyond the scope of a traditional acrylic painting class and teach students more in-depth concepts to help execute the painting we'll work on in the class, and to make better choices in the future when working at home alone.

INTERACTIVE PIGMENT STICK DEMO

R&F Pigment Sticks are oil paint in a stick form. They are a fun, immediate, tactile way to paint in oils without having to use solvents or even brushes! A hands-on experience will be offered after the demo. Participants will have the opportunity to use and manipulate pigment stick on paper. Please come dressed for mess in studio clothing only.

WATERCOLOR SWATCH PARTY

Have you ever wanted to try all of the different brands of watercolor that we carry? Now is your chance! Watercolor expert Catherine Maestro will walk you through a fun and informal hands-on demo highlighting different types of watercolor paints and materials.

Join local artist, Kati Kleimola, for a 3-week class working on a large acrylic painting. Students will create a painting from a floral still life set up in the classroom. Kati will explain her painting process while teachnig about composition, color theory, and painting techniques. If you want to paint large, this class is for you. Students will have access to premium artist quality paints and materials including a 24" x 36" board. All supplies are included in the tuition price.

ACRYLICS FOR BEGINNERS

In this seven session class, Acrylic Expert and Depo Owner Jules Webster will walk students through the foundation of painting with acrylic. Topics will be broken down into individual lessons that will help you understand how to complete paintings in acrylic from start to finish, and give you the confidence to start and finish paintings at home. Topics will include including setting up your workstation, color mixing, color theory, brush technique, understanding paint formulas, how to apply paint, how to paint from a photo, how to paint on paper, wood, or canvas, and more. No prior experience is required. Workshop includes 24 hours of instruction and all materials are provided by the instructor. Jules will have her small cute dog Lily in the classroom a few days of the workshop, so attendees must be ok with tiny cute dogs.

Join Lynne Morea once a month to watercolor in a relaxed, open-studio environment. She will demonstrate techniques and allow particpants to play with paint and enjoy an afternoon of watercolor. Lynne will bring her paints and samples of her watercolor paintings. You bring whatever supplies you have and printed copies of images for inspiration. Together you will have fun being creative.

PIGMENT STICK WORKSHOP

R&F Pigment Sticks are oil paint blended with beeswax that can be applied on a surface as either a drawing or painting tool. In this workshop, students will learn how to apply, blend, and combine pigment sticks with oil paint, Gamblin cold wax, other art materials to complete a finished test artwork.
